Towards the Nobel Prizes

Do you really know everything about the Nobel Prize? The museum carrying the same name traces its history back to 1901 and that of Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite.

In the heart of Gamla Stan Island – the old city of Stockholm, the Nobel Prize Museum is housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, just next to the Storkyrkan Church and Stortorget Square.
Alfred Nobel vowed in his will that part of his fortune be allocated each year to reward the most innovative scientists in the fields of chemistry, physics, medicine, literature and peace. Since 1901, more than 900 luminaries have won the famous Nobel Prize.
Through your visit, discover the laureates Pierre and Marie Curie as well as their daughter Irène, Nelson Mandela and, more recently, Malala Yousafzaï. You will learn everything about the award ceremony that takes place every year on the 10th of December in the main Blue Hall of Stockholm's City Hall and leave with all the secrets of the Nobel Prizes.
